Dr Neel Patel joins Plowman & Partners as Dr Guy Robertson Retires

I am writing to announce that we are extremely fortunate that Dr Neel Patel is joining our partnership.  Neel is a highly trained and experienced dentist having initially studied dentistry at the University of Bristol.  This was followed by gaining experience in Community and Special Needs Dentistry which mainly invovled treating patients that were extremely anxious . He then held various hospital posts in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery before completing an additional 4 years of specialist training in Prosthodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital, UCL, here in London.  As a result of this he is recognised as a Specialist in Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics by the General Dental Council.

 

He subsequently accepted a scholarship from the International Team for Implantology to undertake a 2 year full time Fellowship in Implant dentistry at The University of Florida, USA.

 

Neel is involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and has had his own very successful top end private practice in Oxford, before deciding to take the opportunity to join our practice in the centre of London’s West End medical district.

 

All of the above make him the perfect addition to our team.  He is a very capable, kind, thoughtful and considerate family general dental practitioner, who is very experienced in providing both routine and general dentistry. Where it is appropriate, Neel is equally at home providing complex technical full mouth restorative, prosthodontic and implant dentistry.  The future of dentistry is increasingly digital and Neel has already gained many years of invaluable experience in utilising this technology in both restorative and implant dentistry.

 

Over the years we have deliberately developed a team of 6 highly trained, experienced and registered specialists in a variety of fields.  We all then apply this specialist ethos to caring for all of our patients.  The aim has always been to provide general dentistry to a specialist standard.  I am especially pleased that Neel has the same combination of British and North American training as I do.

 

The partners and I have known Neel both personally and professionally for 15 years so we know that you will find him to be both a lovely chap and a superb and empathetic dentist, whatever your dental needs may be.

 

Neel will join us, part time in the Summer of this year and will gradually take over from me over the next year or so. It would be my pleasure to introduce you to him when I next see you or you are welcome to book an appointment with him.

 

I have always planned to retire from dentistry while still young, fit and ‘at the top of my game’.  Having had the privilege of taking care of you since I joined the partnership in Cavendish Square in 1986, it has been very important to me to find the right individual to take over your care.  I am entirely confident that Dr Neel Patel is that man.
