Technology continues to move forward and our latest clinical implementation of this is that we now have a soft tissue laser at the practice. Lasers have been used as research tools in dentistry for many years but it is only recently that they have been developed for routine clinical use.
Lasers have many uses in minor dental procedures. Their essential advantages are that they cause much less trauma, can actually prevent bleeding and cause almost no post operative pain.
The Epic X is an up-to-date and enhanced everyday diode laser. The system features new software technology and a new cordless foot pedal, among other notable innovations. With quick surgical capabilities, numerous hygiene procedures (where permitted), plus modes for Pain Therapy and Whitening, this is a highly versatile instrument.
Our laser has already been used to control potentially severe bleeding for a patient with haemophilia.
